Over time a netid may not reflect a person accurately based on name and other changes. Faculty and staff may request a netid reissue if their current netid differs significantly from their name due to a legal name change. Students may request a netid reissue when needed to more accurately reflect their gender identity.

Please note that a netid reissue affects a broad range of campus services and each request will be reviewed. Simply not liking your UCSB netid does not qualify for a netid reissue. If your current netid shows all or part of your first or last name and that has not changed, you do not qualify for a netid reissue.

Faculty and staff can request a UCSB netid reissue by contacting the UCSB IT Help Desk. Searching on "reissue" will locate the correct help desk ticket.

Students can request a UCSB netid reissue to more accurately reflect their gender identity by contacting the UCSB Student Help Desk or by contacting the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity. At each support center they can request that a UCSB netid reissue ticket be submitted on their behalf.
