Identity Services LDAP resources and web tools for authentication and end-user self-service are monitored continuously for 24x7x365 availability. Response times that exceed several hundred milliseconds are escalated to system administrators by email and sms for quick resolution.
Historical availability of our LDAP services are shown below. These graphs measure an LDAP transaction consisting of LDAP connection, anonymous bind, entry search (for uid=joegaucho), rdn attribute retrieval, authentication as uid=joegaucho, and connection close. Data points measure the mean response time of 20 such transactions made at 100ms intervals. Measurements are made from Phelps Hall, and traverse the PSN core router and campus backbone to ensure network latency effects are accumulated in these data.
